    Keep the joke for later

You have a very good joke ready, and it is about something you were told in private. Mars, your ruling planet, is in Leo, in the part of your chart about fun, and it is almost exactly square Mercury. Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, where you keep what you share with other people. So a funny story wants to come out and a secret wants to stay in, and Mars is the louder of the two. Let the secret win. The Moon is in Cancer, in your home corner, so have people over instead of going out. Your own kitchen is a better stage for this material, and the biscuits are better too.

    The card Ten of Pentacles

    Your card

    Ten of Pentacles

Three generations and a couple of dogs in one doorway. It suits a night in: your own roots, your own home, and somebody older telling the good story first.

    Your lucky number is 4

Four people is the right size for a table. Why 4? Count the signs from Aries to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

It is not really about the sofa

The argument at home today will be about the sofa, or the dishes, or whose turn it was. It isn’t really about those. Mercury is going backward through your partner corner in Scorpio, so an old remark has come back for a second look. Mars is in Leo, in your home corner, and those two are nearly exactly square. The feeling is old and the furniture is new. Venus, your ruling planet, is retrograde in Libra and has a friendly angle to Jupiter in Leo, which helps. You know how the last version of this talk went, and it ended fine. Put the kettle on before you start.

    The card The Sun

    Your card

    The Sun

The happiest card in the deck, and it came to you on a day with a small row in it. Warm, plain joy: sunflowers, and everyone still on speaking terms by supper.

    Your lucky number is 3

Three cushions, moved once, then left alone. Why 3? Count the signs from Taurus to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

The reply can wait until it is nicer

Your to-do list has started walking the wrong way. Mercury, your ruling planet, is retrograde in Scorpio, in your daily work corner, so a job you called finished may come back with a small note on it. Meanwhile Mars is in Leo, in the part of your chart about everyday talk, and it would like you to answer that note right now, in capitals. Mercury and Mars are square, less than a degree from exact. For you that means one person typing fast about one small job. Reply in half the words, and take out "actually". Later, with the Moon in Cancer in your money corner, check your coat pockets.

    The card Nine of Swords

    Your card

    Nine of Swords

The card of being awake in the small hours. Worry lists look longest then. This one will be the same short list at breakfast, when you can read it properly.

    Your lucky number is 2

Two coat pockets. Check both. Why 2? Count the signs from Gemini to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

    The Moon let itself in

The Moon moved into Cancer early today and it is staying until the weekend. It is your ruling planet, so the house feels quieter with it home. Anyone who sulks in your kitchen this weekend will be found out. The Sun in Scorpio, in your fun and romance corner, has a friendly angle to the Moon, so pleasure comes easily and needs no booking. Mars and Jupiter are both in Leo, in your money corner, and they have their eye on something with a nice label. Look at it, hold it, put it back if you like. Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio too, so an old flame of a hobby may send word.

    The card Strength

    Your card

    Strength

Not the loud kind of strength. A calm hand on something big, and that goes for whatever you feel today. Being soft is how this card wins.

    Your lucky number is 1

The first biscuit is yours. No discussion. Why 1? The Moon is in Cancer, so you come first.

The loudest sign takes a back room

Mars and Jupiter are both in your sign, so you could run a small country before lunch. Nobody has asked you to. The Moon is in Cancer, in your rest corner, and it wants you somewhere with low lighting and no audience. There is one job first. Mercury is backing up through Scorpio, in your home corner, and it is square Mars, so somebody at home wants to go over a plan you thought was settled. Do that, kindly, with your feet up. Then you are free. The Sun, your ruling planet, is in Scorpio as well, which makes the best seat tonight your own. Cancel one thing. Your public will cope.

    The card Knight of Cups

    Your card

    Knight of Cups

A rider with a cup, in no hurry at all. An invitation may come, or a sweet gesture, and you can enjoy the charm of it from the sofa.

    Your lucky number is 12

Twelve pages of a book, or twelve minutes of nothing. Why 12? Count the signs from Leo to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

Tell one friend before you tell them

You have written a reply in your head, and it has had four drafts. Mercury, your ruling planet, is retrograde in Scorpio, in your everyday talk corner, so you keep returning to the same sentence. Mars is in Leo, in your rest corner, where an annoyance you have not mentioned to anyone is doing push-ups. The two are square, and very nearly exact, so today the sentence gets sharper every time you fix it. Say it out loud to one friend first. The Moon in Cancer sits in the part of your chart about friends and is good for exactly this. Your friend will laugh at the fourth draft. You may keep the second.

    The card The World

    Your card

    The World

A dancer inside a wreath: the finished thing. For you that may be one small job truly done, with nobody checking it twice. Even you.

    Your lucky number is 11

Two ones, side by side. Say hello to someone. Why 11? Count the signs from Virgo to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

    Someone kept that old photo

Venus, your ruling planet, moved back into Libra on October 25 and it is still retrograde, so your own past is in the room. Old clothes. Old haircuts. A choice you made years ago and still argue with in the bath. Today Venus has a friendly angle to Jupiter in Leo, and Jupiter sits in your friends corner, so the kind version of that past is held by someone else. Ask a friend who knew you then. They remember it better, and they are on your side. The Moon in Cancer is in your career corner, so people at work are looking your way as well. Wear the good shirt, the old one.

    The card Three of Wands

    Your card

    Three of Wands

Someone on a hill, watching their ships come in. Your past is behind you on this card. It looks ahead, at what you have already sent out.

    Your lucky number is 10

Be ten minutes early, once, and enjoy feeling smug. Why 10? Count the signs from Libra to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

Your own words come back to you

The Sun and Mercury are both in your sign. The Sun makes this your month. Mercury is retrograde, so you are also rereading yourself: old notes, old promises, that thing you said you would never do. Some of it holds up. Mars is in Leo, in your career corner, and it is square Mercury, so a person at work wants a quick answer while your head is pointing the other way. Give a slow one. It will be better, and you can blame the planets. The Sun makes a friendly angle to the Moon, which is in Cancer, in your far places corner, so look up a train timetable for no reason at all.

    The card Ace of Wands

    Your card

    Ace of Wands

A single stick, already sprouting. This is the card of a spark: one new idea, and it may well come out of something old you just reread.

    Your lucky number is 9

Nine minutes of your favourite music, loud. Why 9? Count the signs from Scorpio to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

The big trip has a small catch

Jupiter, your ruling planet, and Mars are both in Leo, in your far places corner, and they want you on a plane. You have the map out already. The catch is Mercury, going backward through Scorpio in your back room corner and square Mars. Something private and unfinished would like a word before you leave: a thing you never replied to, or a box you never opened. It need not stop the trip. It should go on the list, near the top, above the sun cream. Venus is retrograde in Libra, in the part of your chart about friends, so the friend you have not called in a while is a good first call. That person probably has the box.

    The card Two of Wands

    Your card

    Two of Wands

A small figure holding the whole world in one hand and looking out at the horizon. It is a card for making a plan, and then choosing which door to leave by.

    Your lucky number is 8

Eight o’clock is a very good time for tea. Either one. Why 8? Count the signs from Sagittarius to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

The repair that can wait for December

Saturn, your ruling planet, is retrograde in Aries, in your home corner, and it stays that way until December 10. That is a long time to look at one crack in the ceiling, and you have looked at it already. Leave the ladder where it is. Today belongs to other people. The Moon in Cancer is opposite your sign, so their plans arrive first: a friend moving house, a neighbour’s party, a child who needs a lift. Mercury is in your friends corner and Mars in your shared things corner, and they are square, so the group chat may argue about who brings what. Say you will bring the chairs, then sit in one.

    The card Ten of Cups

    Your card

    Ten of Cups

Ten cups under a rainbow, as cosy as a deck gets. Look at who is already in your corner.

    Your lucky number is 7

Seven chairs, if you are counting. Nobody else will. Why 7? Count the signs from Capricorn to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

    The ukulele is back

Uranus, your ruling planet, is retrograde in Gemini, in the part of your chart about fun, and it has a friendly angle to Pluto in your sign. In plain words: an odd old interest of yours is back, and this time you mean it. The telescope, the ukulele, the language you gave up at lesson nine. Get it down from the shelf. Mars and Jupiter are in Leo, in your partner corner, and Mars is square Mercury, which is backing up through your career corner. So the person closest to you has an opinion about your work, and they keep repeating it. They may be right about one part. Find out which part over dinner.

    The card The Devil

    Your card

    The Devil

People flinch at this card, and they need not. It shows a habit with a hold on you, drawn as a chain. Look closely at the old picture: the chains are loose.

    Your lucky number is 6

Tidy six things. Stop at six. Why 6? Count the signs from Aquarius to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

    Play first, sums later

Go and play. The Moon in Cancer is in your fun corner, and the Sun in Scorpio has a friendly angle to it, so two water signs are making the afternoon easy. Draw something badly. Sing in the kitchen. Neptune, your ruling planet, is retrograde in Aries, in your money corner, and it has been going over what you think your time is worth. That can wait. Mars and Jupiter are in Leo, in your daily work corner, and they will get the chores done with or without your full attention. If a message goes astray, blame Mercury, which is in reverse in Scorpio. Everyone else is.

    The card The Hanged Man

    Your card

    The Hanged Man

Someone hanging by one foot, quite calm, seeing the room from a new angle. Some problems look better upside down, and a pause costs nothing.

    Your lucky number is 5

Five minutes of something silly, on purpose. Why 5? Count the signs from Pisces to Cancer, where the Moon is on this date.

    The Moon

76% lit and getting smaller, in Cancer until .

We keep your sign in this browser only, so tomorrow this page opens here.

Your card comes from all 78 cards. We shuffle once a day, using the date, and deal one card to each sign from Aries to Pisces, so no two signs share a card. Your number is where the Moon is, counted from your sign.

    Sample from a made-up chart: June 12, 1990, 8:15 AM, Chicago

    Venus in Taurus, 10th house

    15°18′ Taurus, Placidus houses

The 10th house is the part of a chart that faces the street: your job, your reputation, what people say you do. Venus here wants that public life to be pleasant as well as respectable, and in Taurus she is in no rush. People with this placement rarely chase a title. They are more likely to stay nine years in one place, become the person everyone asks how things really work, and mind the bad chair more than they admit.

The risk is a comfortable job that stopped being interesting a while ago. So it can help to ask, once a year: do I still like this, or am I only used to it?

    Venus sextile Jupiter, orb 0°03′

Sixty degrees, and almost exact. Jupiter is in Cancer, in the 12th house, the private back room of the chart. So the praise that counts for you may not be the public kind. You might let a colleague present the work, then go home and tell one person how well it went. Good news can feel more real to you once it has been said at a kitchen table.

Today’s sky

  • Waning gibbous, 76% lit. It stays in Cancer until .
  • Mercury and Mars: square, within 0°19′. A square is a 90° angle between two planets, a tense one. This is the closest one on this date.
  • Five planets look like they’re moving backward: Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. It’s a trick of how we see them from Earth, and it happens every year.

Try it: in Horizons, pick the Sun, put the observer at Earth’s center, set 2026-10-30 12:00 UT and read the apparent ecliptic longitude. You should get 217.08°. Scorpio starts at 210°, so that is 07°04′ Scorpio.
